In the late 1950's, Dr. A.G. Jacobs, a practicing dentist and founder of Safe-T-Gard, began producing mouthguards using denture lining silicone materials. In the early 1960's, he pioneered boiling water mouthguards and was granted three patents for his innovations. Mouthguards in colors were also a Safe-T-Gard innovation. Customer Rating: Summary: Teeth Grinding Comment: this worked well for teeth grinding. When I molded it I left in the holder for the breathing hole, but it left it with my mouth open too much for sleeping. Next time I won't, It works better without the breathing hole. This was the first one I tried, I tried another one and didn't keep the breathing hole, and it worked good. I would order this one again, and when I mold it I won't leave the breathing hole since I use it at night for teeth grinding.
